What is HTV? Heat Transfer Vinyl is specialty vinyl that has an adhesive on the back, that will react to heat and pressure. A plotter is used to cut the design into the vinyl, then portions are weeded away so that the design can be pressed onto a T-shirt or other promotional items. Vinyl can outlive the t-shirt, and will give the garment a bold crisp look. Vinyl is typically used for solid color designs, but it can be layered to produce multiple color designs. There are different types of vinyl including vinyl for sports uniforms and stretchable vinyl for performance clothing. There is also reflective vinyl, metallic, and hologram vinyl that shifts colors as the wearer moves. And finally, we have glitter flake vinyl for those who like to add a bit of bling to their clothing.
